Position Overview

Shopify has redefined commerce, raising the standard for how businesses of all sizes operate, market and sell their products and services. As Senior Experiential Marketing Manager, you will guide the team responsible for engaging Shopify’s developer and partner ecosystem through best-in-class experiences.

Reporting to the Director of Experiential Marketing, the Senior Experiential Marketing Manager will be responsible for driving event strategies, messaging, activation plans, and execution for owned and rented events (conferences, trade shows, educational roadshows, etc.).

You’ll get to do things like:

  • Drive experiential marketing strategies and tactics to support business objectives and connect with Shopify’s community of app developers, merchant developers, service agencies, and channel partners
  • Thoroughly understand the Shopify partner ecosystem, product offerings, and competitive differentiation to develop unique, engaging, and measurable in person experiences
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders including Platform product line, Product Marketing, Brand Strategy, Creative/UX, and PR
  • Lead co-marketing efforts with strategic partners including Google, Facebook, eBay, and more
  • Define third-party sponsorship strategy and program for all proprietary events
  • Lead the planning and execution of Shopify’s annual developer and partner conference, Shopify Unite
  • Manage a team of marketing managers responsible for project management of event programs including the development of strategy briefs, schedules, production, budget, and reporting

You’ll need to have experience:

  • Extensive experience leading marketing campaigns and programs for a tech / SasS company
  • Experience in leading complex internal cross-functional project teams and managing external agencies
  • Effective leadership and experience growing teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to negotiate a detail-oriented organizational approach
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to think creatively
  • Proactive, can-do attitude with strong interpersonal skills; comfortable working with all functions and levels of the organization
